Telangana Journal of Psychiatry (TJP) is the official publication of the Indian Psychiatry Society – Telangana State Branch (IPS-TSB) formed following the division of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
History of the Psychiatry Journal:
Started in this year 2015, the Psychiatry journal carries the legacy of the Andhra Pradesh Journal of Psychological medicine which was started in 1988. Prior to the division of the state of Andhra Pradesh, the main contributors to the journal were from both the states. Subsequently, The AP Journal of Psychological medicine has been retained with the AP branch of the IPS and the newly formed TJP became the official publication of the IPS-TSB.
Aims and Scope:
The TJP is a strictly anonymous, double-blind, inter-institutional, externally peer-reviewed, open-access, scholarly, official journal of the IPS-TSB. The Psychiatry journal offers a platform for clinicians and researchers with divergent concepts and perspectives. It publishes manuscripts in the field of psychiatry, psychology, psychiatric social work,mental healthnursing and all sciences related to mental health. Papers from all around the world are invited.
The aim of the Psychiatry journal is to keep the field of mental health vibrant and relevant by publishing the latest advances. In accordance with this aim original articles on all aspects of psychiatric disorders including epidemiology, aetio-pathogenesis, diagnosis, management, prognosis and prevention are accepted. Reviews, case reports, editorials, commentaries and viewpoints that focus on the topics of current Psychiatry research and interest are also encouraged. The first decision regarding the submitted manuscript is usually given within six to eight weeks of submission. The Psychiatry journal is published twice a year, Jan-Jun and Jul-Dec. Both print and online versions of the Psychiatry journal are available. Authors get several benefits such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, etc. The Psychiatry journal has full editorial independence from the society, IPS-TSB.
